Photograph a docket on your phone. It's in your spreadsheet before you get back to the van. No cloud. No cables. No manual data entry. Ever.
Unlimited documents · Unlimited pages · No credits. Ever.
How It Works
Four steps. No cloud. No manual entry. Works on any document type from invoices to receipts to web screenshots.
Draw rectangles over a sample document to mark exactly which fields to extract — date, amount, supplier, anything you need.
Every OCR-detected word appears as a chip. Tap to classify as IGNORE, LABEL, or VALUE. Your patented extraction logic does the rest.
Use the 4-parameter camera alignment to capture a perfect photo, or upload existing images. Works on site or at your desk.
Extracted fields appear instantly in your spreadsheet — one row per document, one column per field. No copy-paste. No errors.
Features — 18 Patent Claims
All 18 patent claims are active features in the product today. No competitor offers any of the core Balaur workflow at any price.
Every OCR-detected word is presented as an interactive chip. Tap to cycle through IGNORE, LABEL, and VALUE. The extracted value is assembled from VALUE chips in spatial order — robust to any document quality or layout variation.
Patent Claim 2Draw rectangular zones on a reference document. Zones are stored as normalised 0–1 coordinates — your template works on documents of any pixel size or camera distance, on both mobile and desktop.
Patent Claim 1Currency, dates, times, GPS, ABN, vehicle registration, odometer, fuel volume, phone, email, address, name and more. Assembled text failing validation is automatically discarded. Shared across mobile and desktop.
Patent Claim 3Simultaneously monitors tilt, document height, ambient brightness, and whether expected label text is visible via live OCR. The shutter fires automatically only when all four parameters are within tolerance.
Patent Claim 6A semi-transparent reference image is composited directly onto your live camera viewfinder. Align the physical document to the ghost to ensure every photo is captured in exactly the right position.
Patent Claim 7When all four camera alignment parameters are satisfied simultaneously, the shutter fires automatically and an audio confirmation plays. No button press required — perfect capture every time.
Patent Claim 16Load up to two photos of a single receipt. Draw zones on each photo independently. At extraction time, all zones across both photos combine into a single result row — ideal for long receipts.
Patent Claim 9QR pair your phone to the desktop once. Every photo captured on the mobile app transmits automatically to the desktop receiver, is processed against the loaded template, and written to Excel. No cables, no cloud, no manual steps.
Patent Claim 11Any phone, even without the Balaur app installed, can upload files to the desktop by scanning a QR code with its standard camera app. A mobile-optimised upload page opens in the browser — no app download required.
Patent Claim 12Select files on your PC and generate a QR code. Any phone scans it and gets a download page in their browser — photos, PDFs, spreadsheets, any file type. Server shuts down when you click Stop Sharing.
Patent Claim 13Load a template, drop in document images. For each image: OCR, zone filtering, word chip assembly, find-replace, format validation, Excel row written. One row per document, one column per field, automatically.
Patent Claim 10Point the desktop app at a folder of receipt or invoice images. Every image is auto-prepared — EXIF rotation, deskew, perspective correction, CLAHE normalisation, sharpening — then extracted and written to Excel.
Patent Claim 14OCR is invoked once per document image regardless of how many extraction zones exist. Each zone filters the word list by bounding box intersection — O(1) API calls, dramatically faster than per-zone OCR approaches.
Patent Claim 4Import browser screenshots directly as documents. Pixel-identical layout across sessions means your template zones land in exactly the same position every time — no re-drawing required.
Patent Claim 5Store find-replace pairs inside each template to fix systematic OCR character errors before validation runs. Applied identically on mobile and desktop — build it once, fix errors everywhere.
Patent Claim 8In the results editor, apply a find-replace substitution across all rows of any column instantly. Case-insensitive, immediate — correct a systematic OCR error across hundreds of rows in seconds.
Patent Claim 17Import rows from an external Excel or CSV file into the current session. Columns are matched by name regardless of order. Append results from multiple sessions into one unified export with no manual copy-paste.
Patent Claim 18One shared template format, one OCR pipeline, one format validation library — works identically on mobile and desktop. Templates created on your phone work on your PC and vice versa without conversion.
